Loft Cycle Club

Loft Cycle Club is a spin and sculpt boutique fitness studio in the heart of the Danforth. Loft combines choreographed spin with sculpting classes, with cardio on a bike and strength exercises on the mat.

The spacious and bright studio aims to be the kind of studio that gives you everything you need in one space.  Loft's welcoming approach comes from a desire to feel more like a home than a sterile, generic fitness studio.

loft cycle club torontoThe top floor doubles as a community space with a coworking table, with space to host events. The first floor opens up to the smoothie bar and the sculpting studio, while the lower level houses showers.

The bar provides freshly-made smoothies, local coffee from Hale roasters, and energy balls from Almond Butterfly

loft cycle club torontoDebrah Menashy and Samantha Coelho are the cousin-best friend duo behind Loft Cycle Club. Over a coffee date, the two bonded over their love of spinning, and a year later they had left their corporate jobs and opened Loft.

loft cycle club torontoThe spin studio is located in the basement with two rows of spin bikes. Loft's signature spin class rides to the beat of the music in a 50-minute cycle club

Riders are given spin shoes, which clip into the Stages bike. Each class is a full body workout focusing on form, core, and alignment.

The teachers guide you through a sequence of choreographed rides, leading to an uphill ride and ending with an arm workout and one final, slower-paced ride.

loft cycle club torontoThere's a unique Spin + Abs class, a killer combo of cardio and core work. One thing to remember about spin is that tension on your bike is your friend. Often, new riders try to go tension-free, which makes your ride more difficult. 

loft cycle club torontoThe Sculpt studio, located on the main floor beside the smoothie bar, hosts classes that are meant to sculpt using free weights, booty bands, and Pilates balls.

The idea here is to offer a studio that isn't singularly focused on cardio but offers the supplementary workout for a full body workout.

loft cycle club torontoYou can choose from Build, a dumbbell workout, Balance, which is like a Pilates class, and Burn, a mixture of light weights and high reps. There's even something for moms and moms-to-be with Mom and Babe sculpt classes.  

The room is small and minimalist enough to fit 10 spots. The smaller class means more personal attention, but the intensity also isn't as high.
