Nordstrom Rack Toronto
Nordstrom Rack has a central Toronto location that’s more accessible than ever to shoppers, offering 38 of the top 50 brands found at Nordstrom for up to 70% off every day.
The largest Nordstrom Rack in Canada at 38,600 square feet, it’s also the third ever in Canada (the first is in Vaughan Mills).
There are floor-to-ceiling windows on both of the two levels to let lots of natural light in and tie the store to the outside world.
There are all-concrete floors on both levels, and fixtures have wheels so the store layout can be quickly modified according to customer response. Oversized graphics are designed to make departments easy to find, and nod to the local community next to the escalator.
There are clearly demarcated sections for lifestyle, office, active and swim wear. There’s even a denim section so you can put your personal spin on the Canadian tuxedo.
Coveted brands like Balenciaga, Valentino and Kate Spade are as included as anything in the savings, and sections where bargain hunters can find major percentage-off deals are clearly marked.
Whereas one section might be marked 50% off, others are clearer with signs saying $40 and under or $25 and under, often housing more mid-range brands.
A Valentino skirt might still cost into the thousands though at considerable markdown in a percentage-off section, but with the clarity of a dollar value there’s no sticker shock.
Nordstrom actually started as a shoe store back in 1901, and there are more than 26,000 pairs of shoes from casual to designer styles with sizes ranging gloriously from 4.5 - 13 for women, 6 - 15 for men.
The upper floors are where men’s, children’s and women’s wear can be found, with the lower floor dedicated to departments like travel and beauty. There are more than 500 luggage pieces to shop through with reliable brands like Swiss Gear.
A home section has more cutesy decor pieces like funky glasses, wall hangings, rugs and pineapple-shaped pillows and candles in cactus-shaped vessels, but also quality practical items like Lacoste towels or shower curtains and bed pillows for around a reasonable $20.
Accessories like a decent designer wallet can be scooped up for around $40 marked down from $100, but Ray Bans and the like still over around $200.
Fitting rooms are complete with a lounge outfitted with USB charging portals and calming local art. There’s also the option at this Nordstrom Rack for express mobile checkout, meaning rather than wasting time in line waiting to make a purchase you can simply check out on the spot with the assistance of staff in green.
