The four actors who played the leading hobbits in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy are in Toronto ahead of a special event tied to Fan Expo this weekend, and the group is already being spotted out on side quests about town.
Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan are in the city ahead of their upcoming "Hobbits Second Breakfast" event at the InterContinental Hotel Toronto on Sunday morning.
But breakfast only accounts for one meal of the day, and the group stopped in at a popular local restaurant for a bite to eat on Thursday to quell their appetites ahead of the weekend event.
PAI Toronto shared on Instagram that the group dined at the celebrity hotspot's sister restaurant, Kiin, sharing a photo of the four actors posing with restaurant staff.
The restaurant explained that Dominic Monaghan "came to Kiin years ago and vowed to come back after falling in love with the food. This time he brought the whole crew!"
He absolutely did, bringing the original hobbit crew of Elijah Wood, Sean Astin and Billy Boyd out to dine. The night out not only coincided with the group's visit for Fan Expo Toronto, but also Boyd's birthday on Thursday, with PAI wishing him a happy birthday and thanking the group "for choosing us for this special celebration."
Monaghan clearly had a memorable night with his former co-stars, writing on Instagram, "We had the most incredible night at Kiin Toronto with amazing friends and memories."
Even if you aren't a Lord of the Rings fan, there is something so undeniably wholesome about a group of co-stars who have kept their friendship intact for over two decades.
