As the weather only continues to heat up in Toronto, the desire to eat ice cream for every meal is only getting stronger. But, before you get a cease-and-desist from your dentist for eating all that sugar, there's a new fro-yo spot in the city that you need to know about.
If your For You Page looks anything like mine, it's been inundated for months with videos from frozen Greek yogurt spots south of the border in major cities like New York and Los Angeles.
Diverging from the sugary-sweet treats we frequently associate with the term fro-yo, these spots instead serve soft swirls of unsweetened, frozen Greek yogurt straight up, making them equally appropriate for consumption as breakfast as they are for dessert.
If there's a way to consume ice cream (or something like it) for breakfast, rest assured, I'm going to find it, and, lucky for us all, Toronto just got its own spot serving up the macro-friendly swirls.
Launching its soft opening on Sunday, June 21, the shop has already amassed a fan base of both recently converted die-hards and folks eagerly anticipating their first visit — and it's only been a week.
A cup of the protein-packed frozen treat doesn't come cheap; they run around $10 a cup, topped with an assortment of sauces, fresh fruits and other healthy-ish garnishes, but the price doesn't seem to have deterred the throngs who came out to get a spoonful on opening day.
Seeing as NYC's viral soft-serve margaritas also recently made their way to the city, it looks like it's going to be a soft-serve summer in Toronto, indeed. Dreams really do come true.
