Fresh off the heels of announcing their first Toronto venture, the family behind one of Ontario's most popular banh mi shops is opening another restaurant in the city.
As if gearing up to open their first-ever Toronto restaurant, Nam 6ix, on July 22, wasn't excitement enough, the family behind a swath of popular Vietnamese restaurants in Markham and Thornhill is also preparing to bring its most talked-about concept to Toronto.
See, though the Nam family has no problem churning out droolworthy Vietnamese dishes of all shapes and sizes, it's their banh mi, served at Markham's Banh Mi Nana, that might just take the cake.
Look no further than the 2000 sandwiches the shop sold on its opening day in the summer of 2025, or its habit of selling out entirely, for evidence.
After such seismic success in such a short amount of time, expanding the concept feels like a no-brainer. The Nam family seemingly agrees, because they've now got a second Banh Mi Nana location in the works, and this time, Toronto residents will get the chance to buy into the hype.
The team confirms that Toronto's first Banh Mi Nana location is on the way in an Instagram location, and, though they don't divulge the exact address, they do note that it'll be "near Yonge and Finch."
Now, Toronto has no shortage of great banh mi spots — a fleet that's only continuing to grow — but Banh Mi Nana has an ace to play that few others do: every element of their banh mi, the only item on the menu, is made from scratch.
The bread, the cold cuts, the pork floss and even that distinct banh mi butter are all made in-house, and the attention to detail, it's safe to say, pays off.
There's no word yet on when Banh Mi Nana will open its new Toronto location, but according to the Instagram post, it should be soon.
