The top restaurants in Scarborough according to Toronto residents

As far as neighbourhoods are concerned, Scarborough might just be home to some of the best eats in all of Toronto.

Sure, it's as far east as you can get within city limits, but the restaurants that call Scarborough home make it well worth the trip. Whether you're in the mood for Persian, Japanese, Caribbean, or really anything else, you'll find it here.

But which Scarborough restaurants should be at the top of your list? Dished Toronto took to the streets to ask the neighbourhood's residents what they think the top restaurants in the area are to take the guesswork out of it for you.

If you're familiar with Toronto's shawarma scene, it should come as no surprise that Sumaq Iraqi Charcoal Grill, one of the best shawarma spots in the city, got an immediate shout-out.

Island Spice for Caribbean, Ghadir Meat & Restaurant for Shawarma, Italian restaurant Remezzo and Hokkaido Ramen Santouka also all got their due flowers from the neighbourhood's residents.

To round it out, the Moxie's location at Scarborough Town Centre got nods from two separate respondents. Sure, it may be a massive chain, but whatever whets your appetite.
