People in Toronto have strong opinions about when summer unofficially ends

Not to be a buzzkill, but the end of summer is upon us, and while the season doesn't officially end until Sept. 22, Toronto locals have some pretty strong opinions on when summer is actually over.

blogTO hit the streets to ask locals which event they consider to be the unofficial close of the season.

Many mentioned the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) as Toronto's unofficial end of summer, while one specifically noted the Canadian International Air Show held during the CNE as the point where summer really comes to a close.

Others named Electric Island, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and the Ukrainian Festival as Toronto's final summer hurrah. One person noted that the end of summer looks different depending on where you are in life, like how Labour Day is the official end of the fun for students and education workers.
