With fall just five weeks away, Toronto's weather is slowly but surely heading in a cooler direction, and this week, we'll even see temperatures dip to the low-teens.
According to Environment Canada's 7-day forecast for Toronto, temperatures will remain warm throughout the week before taking a plunge this weekend. On Tuesday, we're expected to see a high of 27 C, followed by a high of 26 C on Wednesday.
Temperatures will drop ever so slightly on Thursday, when we're expected to see a daytime high of 25 C, but will rebound again on Friday, when temperatures will reach a peak of 28 C midday.
Despite the potential rain on Saturday, temperatures will remain warm, with a high of 27 C and a nighttime low of 16 C. On Sunday, potential showers will be accompanied by a high of 24 C and a low of 13 C, representing a temperature swing of 15 C compared to Friday's daytime high.
According to a long-range weather forecast for southern Ontario from the Old Farmer's Almanac, the rest of August is shaping up to offer lots of warm weather, but lots of thunderstorms in return. Plenty of precipitation is expected between Aug. 22 and Aug. 31, totalling roughly 125 mm by the end of the month (70 mm above average in the east, and 20 mm above average in southwestern Ontario).
If you're wondering how September will play out, the Old Farmer's Almanac predicts cool conditions between Sept. 1 and 4, followed by thunderstorms and warm weather between Sept. 5 and 8.
Weather is expected to vary greatly across southern Ontario between Sept. 9 and 16, with showers in the east and sunny conditions in the west. Showers, followed by sunny and cool conditions, will likely arrive between Sept. 17 and 23, and the month is expected to end on a rainy and chilly note, between Sept. 24 and 30.
Overall, the average monthly temperature in September is expected to be 15 C (1 C below average), and precipitation totals will likely reach 115 mm (which is 25 mm above average).
