TTC has a bunch of jobs available and some pay over $175K

If you're on the hunt for a job this summer and hoping to lock down an opportunity with a Toronto-based company or agency, you might want to check out the exciting openings at the TTC right now.

The transit agency has been recognized as one of Toronto's best employers in the past and offers a comprehensive package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a TTC-defined pension plan for full-time employees.

Whether you have a few years of experience under your belt or you're a seasoned professional in your field, chances are you might find something that matches your qualifications.

Here are some current job opportunities with the TTC that offer a yearly salary over $80,000.

Technical Writer

This opportunity with the TTC's Capital Project Delivery Office offers a competitive salary of $80,353.00 to $100,445.80, depending on your experience, which should include a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, as well as superb technical writing and editing skills.

In this role, you'll be responsible for "developing, drafting, revising, and releasing technical and process documentation related to all aspects of management, installation, testing, operations, maintenance, and repair within the Operations and Infrastructure Group."

On top of this, you'll be required to create, document, and manage information and records, develop policies and procedures, and conduct research. If this role sounds like it could be a good fit, you have until July 14 to submit your application.

Safety Technician

Have you completed post-secondary education in occupational health and safety? If so, this role with the TTC's Safety and Environment department could be right for you.

The position pays between $91,109.20 and $113,895.60, and includes responsibilities such as providing support to the organization through the dissemination of safety communications, tracking and preparing reports on corrective actions, and assisting with the maintenance of investigation files.

Along with your post-secondary education, you should be working towards or be eligible to obtain a Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST), Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification. The deadline to apply for this role is July 9.

Project Manager, Renewable Energy Programs

This opportunity with the TTC's Renewable Energy Programs is one of the highest-paying roles currently open, paying between $140,176.40 and $175,284.20 depending on your qualifications and skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of multiple related projects, and establishing rapport with stakeholders at various levels, including those external to the TTC.

Other responsibilities will include establishing the overall scope, schedule, and budget for various projects, prioritizing projects to meet strategic business goals, and identifying any external risks.

To qualify, you must have a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, as well as "progressive experience" in the areas of general project management of transit vehicles and/or large multi-discipline capital projects. Make sure to submit your application by July 13 if you want to apply.

Engineering Technologist, Bus Maintenance & Shops

If you have a valid Truck & Coach Technician Certificate (310-T), you might want to keep this position, which pays between $104,124.80 and $130,166.40 on your radar.

As an engineering technologist, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits. The candidate chosen will also need to provide technical support and expertise to those involved in the procurement, inspections, and repairs.

To qualify, you'll also need a post-secondary college diploma or a university degree in a related discipline. An OACETT certification as an Engineering Technologist is also considered an asset for this role. If this sounds like the job for you, you'll have until July 12 to apply.

Inventory Supervisor

This role requires you to plan, analyze, and optimize inventory levels to make sure that service targets are being met while maintaining financial efficiency. Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree is a must, along with extensive knowledge of business administration, financial management, supply chain principles, and inventory planning practices.

This position, which pays anywhere between $100,318.40 and $125,434.40, also requires you to analyze inventory data to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels to support project requirements. Make sure to submit your resume sooner rather than later, because the application period for this role ends on July 13.
