Toronto road closures this weekend will prove a major obstacle for transit users and motorists, as a trio of major events will shut down key thoroughfares across the city.
July 11-12 will be a busy weekend for events in Toronto, including two large street festivals and a parade through the heart of the city.
Here's everything you need to know to navigate the busy weekend ahead!
The 24th Festival of South Asia will shut down traffic along Gerrard Street East between Coxwell Avenue and Glenside Avenue, and 506/306 Carlton streetcars will be forced to divert both ways via Parliament Street, Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue to avoid the festivities.
The 22nd annual Latin festival will shut down St. Clair Avenue West between Winona Drive and Christie Street.
The closure will require some rerouting of the 512 St. Clair streetcar route, which will operate on a split route west of Robina Avenue and east of St. Clair West Station, with buses replacing service between Oakwood Avenue and St. Clair West Station.
This spiritual festival will kick off with a huge parade on Saturday, July 11, which will require rolling closures along Yonge, Gerrard, Bay, King, York, and Wellington streets.
The parade organized by the Toronto chapter of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness is set to start at Yonge and Dundas, moving south to the lake with a display of three 40-foot-tall floats, singing, drumming, and dancing.
