A major outage on the TTC's Line 2 Bloor-Danforth created even more commuter frustration in Toronto to kick off Friday morning, adding to a disastrous few weeks of unplanned service disruptions on local subway routes.
Friday morning commuters were thrown a curveball at 7:12 a.m., when the TTC announced a halt in service between Broadview and Woodbine stations on Line 2, citing a "mechanical problem."
Service was restored just after 8 a.m., but the anger will likely simmer for days.
Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: No service between Woodbine and Broadview stations while we fix a mechanical problem. Shuttle buses are on the way.

The unplanned commuter chaos follows a string of disruptive outages in April, and comes hot on the heels of another major morning service outage.
Friday's outage comes just 24 hours after a major outage that halted all service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth and Line 4 Sheppard on Tuesday morning, which TTC CEO Mandeep Lali blamed on "a gremlin within the software" that controls signalling and scheduling for trains on both lines.
Earlier in April, multiple hydraulic oil leaks led to significant closures on Line 2, prompting an outpouring of anger from transit users.
The TTC's announcement of yet another major service outage on Friday morning has only further incensed people who rely on public transit, with many taking to social media to vent frustrations.
"Good lord. Most unreliable transit service ever," writes one commenter.
You are, without any doubt, not just the worst run service in Toronto, but in all of Canada.

Toronto transit users are growing all too familiar with shuttle buses, and here's hoping Friday morning is their last brush with these cramped surface replacements for the foreseeable future.
