If this isn't a lost scene from Fargo, then I don't know what is.
An angry driver on Highway 404 called emergency services to complain about slow-moving snow plows, leaving York Regional Police (YRP) "speechless."
YRP shared the entire phone call on social media, not just to rightfully shame the caller for their ridiculous behaviour, but to educate residents that 9-1-1 should only be used for life-threatening emergencies.
The man told the operator that the snowplows driving southbound on the highway were moving at 20 kilometres per hour and, essentially, if they don't put the pedal to the metal, he'll be late and "penalized at work."
"It is becoming a sh*t show here, miss," the caller exclaimed. "You might want to send an officer out here."
The absolutely gobsmacked operator can be heard taking a measured breath before politely replying, "Sir, I can't make the snow plows go faster."
Of course, the post invited an influx of comments from users mocking the guy and telling him to "just wake up earlier next time!"
"I feel sorry for the police officers constantly dealing with unnecessary phone calls. Like really, be grateful for having clean roads," another user wrote.
Some users found it so entertaining that they were basically begging for more. "I need to hear more of these phone calls. This is actually hilarious," one comment read. Low key, we kind of agree.
You'd be surprised by some of the dumbest reasons Ontario residents have called 9-1-1, including several non-emergency calls to Toronto Police, ranging from wrong food orders to tracking down a lost phone number.
But what happened this week may just take the cake.
