The holidays are fast approaching, and while most are wrapping up their seasonal shopping rush, there are a few things outstanding on Toronto's wish list.
blogTO hit the streets amid the holiday shopping frenzy to ask locals their holiday wishes for what they would most like to see change about life in Toronto.
Among the many responses, locals mentioned some of the year's biggest conversation topics, including a desire for cheaper rent, more parks and green spaces, and less construction.
It goes without saying that at least one person mentioned their desire to see the Toronto Maple Leafs' ongoing Stanley Cup drought finally end, but that's looking like an increasingly unrealistic wish for this season.
A few people mentioned preserving and adding bike lanes on their Toronto holiday wish list, a polarizing topic that remained relevant through the year following a move by the province to ban new cycling infrastructure in late 2024.
For some reason, someone even mentioned Labubus, saying, "there's never enough." However, speaking personally, I think we are good on Labubus.
Multiple people mentioned new and improved subway service, a longstanding complaint for transit users.
Accessibility to major seasonal attractions was another recurring theme, with one person wishing the St. Lawrence Winter Market would remain open on weekdays and another wanting the Distillery District to be a bit more affordable, "so more people can come and enjoy all of it."
