More photos and videos reveal extent of Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry's date in Montreal

It turns out Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry had a full itinerary in Montreal that involved more than just dinner.

Canada's former prime minister and the pop star shocked the internet after they were spotted having a dinner date at Le Plateau's Le Violon, a local hotspot run by celebrity chef Danny Smiles.

The video, which shows Trudeau, 53, and Perry, 40, chatting away at the Michelin-rated restaurant on Monday night, was released by TMZ on Tuesday, July 29.

That wasn't the only thing the pair were up to that evening, though.

According to TMZ, Trudeau and Perry were seen strolling through Mount Royal Park an hour and a half before their delicious meal.

Photos show the singer holding her dog, Nugget, while the former politician trailed behind her. TMZ says that Trudeau was "all smiles" as he dropped Perry and Nugget off at the Ritz-Carlton and that the two kept it casual with no signs of PDA.

(Chef Smiles had doubled down on the platonic nature of the outing, confirming to TMZ that there was no visible PDA that took place during dinner.)

The hang didn't end there, either — Trudeau and Perry were then seen grabbing a nightcap at Montreal bar Taverne Atlantic.

Sources told TMZ that they enjoyed cocktails on the patio, with Perry sipping on Canadian whiskey. A subsequent video shared by the tabloid news site on Tuesday shows Trudeau walking out of the bar with his "arm practically welded to Katy's waist."

Even further footage that is newly making the rounds on Friday morning shows the former leader jamming out and singing along at Perry's performance in the Quebec city.

These sightings come after both Trudeau and Perry's incredibly public splits with their respective partners.

The "Hot N Cold" singer confirmed her breakup with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom earlier this month, while Trudeau split with his ex-wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau in 2023.

Just like the words "Katy Perry" and "astronaut," the world really didn't foresee "Katy Perry" and "Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau" being uttered in a sentence together.

The internet did its thing and churned out hilarious memes after news broke about the pair.

"The phrase 'what the hell, sure' was made for moments like these," reads one post on X.

"Justin Trudeau & Katy Perry spotted in Moncton!" joked another X user with a photoshopped image of the unlikely pair at a water park in the New Brunswick town.

Others, though, are calling on the public to respect their privacy.

Whether this is the beginning of a whirlwind romance or simply just a dinner and drinks between two friends, it's definitely a bizarre Canadian heritage moment for the history books.
