Toronto Holocaust Museum to open this spring
A new technologically-advanced museum dedicated to Holocaust education will open its doors this June.
The Toronto Holocaust Museum was first announced in 2021 and recently officially revealed that it will launch ticket sales next month and open to visitors on June 9, 2023.
Created by the UJA Federation's Neuberger Holocaust Centre with assistance from a $12 million donation by the Azrieli Foundation, the interactive museum explores the atrocities of the Holocaust in addition to broader antisemitism, bigotry, and hatred in all forms.
Through artifacts, testimony, photographs and specially designed interactives, visitors will immerse themselves in the history of the Holocaust and explore its contemporary relevance.

Visitors will learn about the tragedies of the Holocaust and their connection to current-day world events through what the museum describes as state-of-the-art exhibits "showcasing cutting-edge technology, including interactive Holocaust survivor testimony stations at the core of each gallery and augmented reality tablet tours."
The over 9,500-square-foot museum is a spiritual and physical successor to the Sarah and Chaim Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre, housed in the Sheff Family Building on UJA's Sherman Campus north of Bathurst and Sheppard in North York.
At almost double the size of its predecessor, the new facility includes a 40-seat theatre showcasing both archival and new, specially curated footage and films, four themed galleries, and a learning lab for discussion and workshops.
Over 220 minutes of firsthand testimony from more than 70 Holocaust survivors will be available at the Museum through theme-based clips shown at 11 testimony stations.
Tickets will be available for pre-order as of May 15, 2023, with general admission priced at $18 and seniors at $12. Children, youth, and students will all be able to access the Toronto Holocaust Museum free of charge.
