So Then, Don't Wait

Toronto animator Efehan Elbi is a self-proclaimed lover of snow. And we have plenty of the white stuff these days. And today he's posted an excellent animation that is befitting, considering we've all got our boots and gloves drying on the register.

From gentle, slowly drifting, to horizontally stretched blizzarding, Efehan craftily uses focus changes and motion to show both the gingerly and feistier sides of snow. The way snow obscures the streets, headlights and taillights appearing and fading, and the way it distorts the view out the window are really well done too.

I'm reminded of those not-so-cozy rides I'd take every so often when I was away at university in Guelph. The experience of hopping on the Greyhound bus for a winter weekend visit home in Toronto and holding the phone, just in case one of my waiting friends calls, as I drift off to sleep, is one I've had a few times.
