Canadian Opera Company's Opera for a New Age Tickets On-Sale Saturday
Get ready for a dash of Puccini and a dose of Janรกcek, because Saturday January 19th marks the on-sale date for the Canadian Opera Company's Opera for a New Age tickets. OFNA is an offer for those 29 and under to attend performances at $20 a seat (as opposed to $60 or more.) The performances on sale this Saturday are Tosca by Puccini and From the House of the Dead by Janรกcek.
There are two ways to acquire tickets; online starting at 10am from the COC's website, or in person at the Four Seasons Centre on Saturday at the same time. The offer allows you to get 2 tickets per performance, as long as your guest is also 29 and under.
On a last-minute note, if you're new to opera and don't know your Mozart from your Britten, there might be an event tonight up your alley. Opera 101 is going down tonight at 7pm at the Drake Hotel, admission is free and some food and drinks will be provided. Hosted by Brent Brambury, the talk will feature an introduction to From the House of the Dead, with performer Robert Kunzli and costume and set designer, Astrid Janson.
Performances of Tosca begin Saturday January 26th, while From the House of the Dead opens on Saturday February 2nd.
