Nuit Blanche is Looking for Volunteers

The arrival of Nuit Blanche in Toronto is fast approaching now and organizers are looking for a few good arty folks to volunteer their nighttime assisting the artists, docents and the public.

Time commitment will consist of a two hour training prior to Nuit Blanche on September 21, an on-site rehearsal the week of September 25 and the entire night (12 hours) of September 30 to October 1.

According to organizers, the only required skill is, "a genuine love of contemporary art along with the thrill of joining an all-night celebration of Toronto."

There are 150 positions to fill such as:

- assistant docent
- exhibition crew
- artist assistant for install and strike
- volunteer performer to work with artist
- media relations
- tour bus guide
- information ambassador
- volunteer operations coordinator
- exhibition assistant for "My Secret City".

All those interested should check out the Volunteer Orientation session coming up Tuesday, August 29 from 7-9pm at City Hall (Committee Room 3, 2nd Floor). There you'll be able to hear more about the various positions, sign up and ask any questions.
