Marge Simpson Loves Ringo Starr in Paint

If you haven't already been, I urge you to check out the Marge Simpson Project at the Lennox Contemporary art space.

The collection of Springfield portraits with all your favourites -- Wiggum, Apu and Professor Frink -- coincide with the paintings of Ringo Starr, a nude Mr. Burns (yes, you get to see his doodle) and Homer on the couch with beer and undies, all works of art potentially painted by Marge Simpson, as seen by artist Les Paterson.

According to blogger Mr. Anchovy, when the artist was asked if he's worried about being sued for copyright violations, he said the Simpsons corporate machine likely wouldn't be bothered with a little artist like him.

What happens when somebody buys the paintings? Does Paterson send the proceeds, or a portion of them to the owners of the rights? Or is it all in good fun?

Okily dokily.
