Charity Auction & Call for Submissions

Looking for something to decorate your walls? How about making a charitable donation at the same time? Two upcoming events include Toronto photographers and artists.

On Thursday evening starting at 7:30pm, eleven Toronto photobloggers works will be auctioned at Cross Cultural Solutions. Tonya Reid hopes to raise funds and volunteer in the Volta region of Ghana where she will work with Youth Against Aids and WAFU, a branch of the government that deals with violence against women. The evening includes auctions for several donated items, a 50/50 draw, as well as the photography auction. Join us for a cocktail and crepes and bid on something nice on Thursday evening at Le Petit Dejeuner, 191 King St. East (at Jarvis).

Secondly, are you a shutterbug that would like to donate a photograph to help raise money for cancer prevention and research? Picture the Cure is having a charity gala and auction scheduled for August 21, at The Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West). Organizers Irina and Gail ask that photographers wishing to make submissions do so before the end of June. All proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
