5 Questions: Martial Art with Celtic Roots

Fianna Saoirse is a martial art that combines Irish Stick Fighting, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Japanese Goju, and the Israel hand to hand combat martial art of Krav Maga. The system includes self defense, ground fighting, weapons training, as well as defense against multiple attackers. One thing stressed is that "no previous combat experience is necessary only the desire to be a warrior". The martial art is also rooted in the Celtic spiritual tradition.

I had a chance to speak with instructor Ollamh Proinsias, who has been studying martial arts since the age of 7, about the martial art tradition and overcoming his physical difficulties to achieve success.
