CONTACT on King

The 2005 CONTACT photo festival kicked off today. I stopped by the temporary HP Gallery (441 King West) to check out Joel Meyerowitz's photos from Ground Zero. (Joel is speaking at Jackman Hall on Monday @ 7pm. $10)

From the HP Gallery, a pack of us wandered down the street to Brassai where David Byrne was giving a $150 a plate lecture. There were some photos outside, but we realized we could get a better view through the windows nextdoor, at Crush, were they were also handing out free snacks. It was an awkward setup as the CONTACT mob waded through the restaurant gazing at photos as the regular lunch crowd looked on.
