FESTIVALS

Caribana (July 30-August 2)
Caribana is back for its 47th year and just keeps getting better. Offering up tons of music and entertainment, this is one of the summer's most anticipated events for good reason. This Saturday check out the parade on Lakeshore Boulevard free of charge. See what went down last year in this photo gallery.

Pan American Food Fest (July 30-August 3)
Head to Daniels spectrum for The Pan American Food Fest, a celebration that showcases the food and culture of 41 nations. This year's featured country is Mexico, so expect some top notch caliente options from vendors.

Island Soul (July 31-August 3)
The Harbourfront is hosting a Caribbean festival of their own this weekend. Look forward to celebrating Caribbean roots and culture with plenty of musicians, artists and thinkers. The line up includes J-Perry, Calypso Stars, and more.

Scarborough Ribfest (July 31-August 3)
Scarborough Ribfest is four days filled with BBQ goodness in Thomson Memorial Park. There will be competitions, live entertainment, and tons of food (obviously).

Maker Festival 2015 (August 1)
Maker Festival showcases the best and brightest talent in the world of technology. Head to the Toronto Reference Library to see 3D printer demonstrations, learn what goes into building a robot, or test your own abilities in creative workshops.

Toronto Food Truck Festival (August 1-2)
Toronto's favourite food trucks will rally at Woodbine Park on August 1 and 2 for two days of street foods, eating challenges, cold beer, live music, and a children's village. Admission is free.

MUSIC

George Ezra & James Bay (August 1)
UK up-and-comers George Ezra and James Bay will be co-headlining a show at Sherbourne Common on August 1st with special guests Coasts. Look forward to a melodic British invasion.

VELD (August 1-2)
Toronto's other EDM monolith returns to Downsview for another round, bringing hometown hero Deadmau5, Kaskade, Hardwell, Above & Beyond, Steve Aoki, A$AP Rocky, DVBBS and more along with it. Hop on the subway to Downsview and dance all day and night.

TD Irie Music Festival (August 1-2)
The TD Irie Music festival takes over Fort York for two days to celebrate Canadian-African culture. Headliners include Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons, Junior Reid and more. Admission is only free if you are wearing a Toronto Carnival Costume on August 1st or before 5 p.m., so arrive early or plan on dressing to impress.

OVO Fest (August 1-3)
Drake's love for Toronto knows no bounds, proven this year by expanding OVO Fest with a third day, featuring a Kevin Hart comedy set at the ACC. J.Cole ft. Big Sean and YG headline day one of the (somewhat) mystery lineup, while the classic 'Drake + Special Guests' is on tap for day two.The mystery has already sold out day two, so start hitting refresh on Craigslist.

Live Music at Ontario's Celebration Zone
PANAMANIA may be on a break, but there's still many live musical events associated with the Games. This weekend you'll see Down With Webster (July 31), Kardinal Offishall (August 1) and more -- all for free at Ontario's Celebration Zone.

MOVIES

TIFF in Your Park: The Good Lie (July 31)
This Friday, skip the movie theatre and take advantage of the good weather we've been having. Head to the Moss Park Apartment Greenspace to watch Reese Witherspoon tackle one of her most dramatic roles in The Good Lie.
