Deep fried bacon covered hotdogs coming to Toronto

Posted by Staff / July 16, 2012

Deep fried bacon hotdogDeep fried bacon covered hotdogs are coming to Toronto. Yes, the CNE announced the new food items available this year and bacon looks to be the star attraction. While deep fried Mars bars, butter and donut cheeseburgers will all make return appearances in 2012, it's the trendy bacon that hopes to eclipse them all with the aforementioned hotdog, bacon and nutella and Jack Daniels bacon sandwiches, bacon parfait, bacon sundae, candied bacon and bacon popcorn all expected to grease CNE-goers stomachs.

Expect to be bacon'd out? Don't worry, there will also be far east tacos (with kalbi, bulgogi, kimchi, tofu and more), raw food and a food truck frenzy (a collection of 17 local food trucks) competing for your lunch dollars. Better start dieting now.

Every year the quality of food at the CNE tries to outdo itself in providing greater varieties of crap. Soon they'll be on par with many American county fairs except at double the price.

I'd be hopeful about the tacos and raw food except I don't think they'll be worth the money.

Greeeeeeeeaat. Who wants to wait in line for 55 minutes to have lunch? That's the one thing I despise about these deep fried foods they are starting to peddle at the CNE. Have more booths around the grounds or at least one inside the food court.

Why not be on par with the Americans? It happens once a year so it's the perfect excuse to try it (if you want to spend half the day waiting). Don't be a Debbie Downer.

The food trucks will be the redeeming factor this year among the other stuff.

that is nothing new compare that to calgary stampede where the serve bacon covered funnel want want to try something crazy.get 2 grilled sandwiches,3 beef patties,9 bacon strips and deep fried that.

To whom it may concern: Anyone who goes to an event like the CNE for healthy food has completely missed the point. And now that everyone stares into their cell phones most of the time anyway, nobody should ever have an excuse to be bored in a lineup. Stop bitching already.

but we in toronto love bitching about everything.......

Yeah, frodo, I too wish you had died in the chuckwagon races. WHAT THE HELL STEW?
EXEX / July 16, 2012 at 08:50 pm
Ha ha ha someone is actually whining that the CNE doesn't have healthy food, and they want us to take their comment seriously. Did I already say ha ha ha? Well I'm saying it again. Ha ha ha.

Tiny Tom Donuts, Beavertails and Ice Cream sandwhiches are a MUST. As much as I love bacon I can't wait for the 17 food trucks.

The trick is to show up earlier than most of the gluttons. Nothing says The Ex like deep-fried everything for breakfast. (i'm PUMPED)

to be honest i love the cne but when it comes to eating time there should be more buildings that provide more seats and tables... its pretty hard to find a seat in the food court, last year took me over an hour to find a seat and i rather just sit outside if its gonna be that bad..... just a heads up MORE SPACE

I love going to the CNE to eat stupid stuff, I'm a pretty healthy eater otherwise but CNE-gorge-days are a tradition.

Not a fan of chocolate bacon, but bulgogi tacos sound good, sign me up!

That's why they serve food that doesn't have to be eaten at a table! Hot dogs, everything on a stick! Stay at home if you want to sit down.
