Henry's Outlet Centre on Queen Going Deadpool

Posted by Guest Contributor / January 30, 2010

Henry's Outlet CentreThere's a closing sale happening at Henry's Outlet Centre at 69 Queen Street East. The company says the downtown Outlet Centre will be closed in March and is planning to open a new outlet store in Mississauga.

Originally the location of ALT Camera Exchange which went out of business in 2001, Henry's eventually purchased ALT's inventory and used the location as a retail outlet for old stock items and used equipment.

Henry's Outlet CentreIt's fun to search through those junk piles for the rare finds but don't expect to get any great bargains as Henry's is doing very well selling their good used items online and therefore don't have much of a need to give the store away.

Makes me wonder how much my DSLR will be worth in eight or ten years.

Wow, this sucks. I love dropping into the Outlet Center and digging through mounds of old lenses or flashes, and the only reason I could do this is because of its prime location. Being without a car, I doubt I'll make it out to the new location.

You don't need a car to get to Mississauga.

"You don't need a car to get to Mississauga." BS.

Nor do you need one to get to anywhere... if you have unlimited time. You do need a car to get to anywhere in Mississauga, much less around it, in anything like reasonable time.

I commute there from Toronto on transit: 70 min versus 35 min by car.

It is a shame they are moving out of downtown. I understand the move.

Too bad the rent downtown is pricing all the old stuff out and all the big box stores in.

Any guesses as to what will move into the location after Henry's Outlet Store is vacated?

Henry's Outlet has been letting people know they're moving this location for months. All the good sale stuff went before Christmas and all the really good stuff that's left is just moving with them to Mississauga.

Consider that before hopping on the streetcar or subway.

Please, so many people that work in the 416 are 905ers anyways.

Some people have better things to do then nap on the TTC! Is that one aspires to? While you are napping, I can drive to Henry's, pick it clean, and be home before you even arrive.
Truly, a car-less world narrows ones options. I'd prefer Henry's in Mississauga with free parking. Going to Queen/Church was a nuisance.
