Posted by Julia Stead / June 18, 2014

Toronto Pride Parties 2014Toronto is hosting World Pride from June 20th to 29th this year, meaning there will be a huge number of parties to entertain the expected two million festival-goers. There are plenty of worthwhile official World Pride affiliated events to check out, but if you're trying to determine where to party, this handy guide breaks down 10 of this year's hottest tickets, along with a day-by-day roundup of concerts, jams, and other celebratory events. From boozy day drinks to theme parties to club nights, this Pride is going to be one for the books y'all. So go on and get down with your bad self.

Olivia Chow's World Pride Party / Woody's / June 21 / 9pm / Free
Toronto politician Olivia Chow is throwing a quite a party at Church Street's staple bar, Woody's and Sailor. There will be two shows full of latin, gospel, soca, pop and hip hop that will feature some fabulous Toronto performers and DJs. The show ends at 11pm, so it's a perfect warm-up before a long night out.

Sweetness Pride Beach Party / Sugar Beach / June 22 / 12pm / Free
One thing Pride needs is more excuses to be topless. Sweetness Pride Beach Party is all about having fun in the sun, with a sandy beach bar, lots of food, and a solid DJ lineup pumping the beats.

Steers and Queers: Night of 1000 Dollys / The Gladstone / June 26 / 9pm / $10-12
Leather chaps, cow-person boots, and 10 gallon hats galore. The Gladstone will throw one mighty fine dance party on Thursday night, with steers and queers showing up by the herd. There will be a full Dolly Parton Choir, drag, burlesque, live music and a Dolly look-a-like contest. You'll feel homo, homo on the range.

A Club Called Rhonda / The Drake / June 26 / 10pm / $10
After stops in NYC, Paris, Tokyo and Miami, A Club Called Rhonda returns to Toronto for a polysexual party celebrating sex and self-expression. From 10pm until late, all three floors of the Drake Hotel will be taken over for a dance-y extravaganza of house, disco and electro.

RANGEELA: The Big Bollywood Disco / Club 120 / June 27 / 10pm / $10-20
Canada's biggest queer South Asian event turns three as World Pride arrives in Toronto. If you love your Bollywood, kick off your Pride weekend at this dance party as they take it back to the golden era of disco. Stay out late, the party doesn't stop until 4am.

FIT Primpin / 99 Sudbury / June 27 / 9:30pm / $20-25
FIT meets Big Primpin for a West End Pride mash-up. Lots of room inside 99 Sudbury to groove with TS Madison, Tynomi Banks and Djs Max Mohenui, Blackcat, Phil V, Nino Brown and more! Some of the best dance moves you might see all week.

Pitbull: Worldwide Pride / Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex / June 27 / 9pm / $60
This event is World Pride-sized. A huge entertainment venue complete with three decked-out spaces that you can rotate throughout all night. International and local DJs Chris Cox, DJ Hansom, DJ Del Stamp, Deko-Ze and DJs Aural and Alessandro will be keeping things nice and loud. Go Go dancers will perform showy moves in even showier outfits. Free transportation will be provided from the village to the Liberty Grand all night long, so you don't have to worry about cabbing.

Yes Yes Y'all presents YASSSS BITCH: Pride Jam / June 28 / Adelaide Hall / 10pm / $20
Toronto's favourite monthly queer party knows how to do Pride right. Alongside the YYY DJ crew, there will also be performances by some international DJs and dancers. A Couple things to note here - this is at Adelaide Hall not the usual CODA location, and if you don't buy your tickets ahead of time, you better be okay with spending all night in line.

Cub Camp WORLD PRIDE BBQ and Speedo Party / The Beaver / June 28 / 6pm / Free + food
Head over to West Queen West to enjoy the sights and sounds of The Beaver's last Cub Camp event. Swimwear and barbecue sauce are the name of the game. DJs will be set up on the patio, boys will be cruising around in speedos, and Dog Days Parkdale is providing some delicious BBQ meat. When nighttime arrives, the party will move inside to the dance floor.

CREAM: Carole Pope Afterparty with Peaches + Vee Stun / Wrongbar / June 28 / 10pm / $30
Celebrate WorldPride in glittery, raunchy, rock n' roll dance party style. There will be a live set by Carole Pope, DJ set by Peaches, and a rock DJ set by Vee Stun. CREAM is a celebration of Carole Pope's contribution to Canadian music and a fundraiser for the film Rough Trade. The film will capture the art, music and LGBT scene of the early eighties through the eyes of Carole Pope and her band, Rough Trade.

VASELINE / SHAME / VAZALEEN / Wrongbar / June 29 / 9pm / $15
The parade is now over, Pride week has almost come to an end. Get rid of your last bit of energy at this dirty dance blowout inside Wrongbar. Music from Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet and Jenna Syde, plus DJs that will keep the dance floor populated. Shame is a benefit for the Will Munro Queers Living With Cancer Fund.

Why call her Chairman Chow? Your racism's showing there, JC.
JC replying to a comment from Gus / June 18, 2014 at 12:07 pm
Singling her out as a socialist is not racism!
sarah replying to a comment from JC / June 18, 2014 at 12:14 pm
I don't think it's a matter of Chow vs Tory. It's more the fact that Chow's throwing a huge party at a venue, and Tory is participating in the parade. It's great to see the candidates involved either way. But this is a list specific to parties.

Also, I'm sure that there's many others that probably didn't make this list too.

Did they purposefully leave out all the Prism Events or are they just blithely unaware of the biggest events during Pride?
Phillip / June 19, 2014 at 08:48 am
Spike explain how calling someone a socialist is being racisist? I tend to agree with JC. Anyone says anything negative about chow and you lot jump on them and label them a racist!
Lorraine replying to a comment from Rick / June 19, 2014 at 12:26 pm
'these "parties"' Looks like we've got a straight up homophobe here, everyone.

Don't worry, "Rick". Most adults wash their hands. I hope your ignorance eats you alive.
Sam / June 20, 2014 at 06:03 pm
You have two different events listed at the Beaver on June 26th.
C replying to a comment from Rick / June 26, 2014 at 03:20 pm
Why bother reading an article if you're just going to be an ignorant bigot? Find something else to spend your time on.
