If you're planning a trip to the Toronto Zoo this summer, getting there just got a whole lot easier.
Parkbus, the nonprofit transportation service that's been connecting people to national and provincial parks since 2010, is now offering a round-trip express bus ride to the Toronto Zoo for just $5 per person.
If you're going with family and bringing a stroller, you can reserve a stroller bench for an additional $10.
The seasonal service runs weekends and holidays until September 7, 2026, with two pickup locations in Toronto: 34 Asquith Ave. (Yonge and Bloor) and 5 Old York Rd. (York Mills Station).
The first bus heads to the zoo at 8:30 a.m., while the last return trip leaves the zoo at 7 p.m.
Considering parking at the Toronto Zoo costs $20 for the day, it's a pretty affordable alternative to driving and even taking the TTC.
Tickets to the zoo can add up, too, with admission priced at $42.75 for adults and $29.64 for children. If you have a PRESTO card, however, you can save 15 per cent on admission for you and a guest.
The Toronto Zoo first opened in August 1975 and is one of the city's most iconic attractions. Its 500-acre conservation is open every day of the year, even on December 25, and welcomes around 1.3 million visitors annually.
Home to more than 3,000 animals, five indoor tropical pavilions and over 10 kilometres of walking trails, the Toronto Zoo has plenty to fill an entire day.
While you won't find viral animal stars like Moo Deng or Neil the Seal, the Toronto Zoo is still packed with ridiculously cute stars-in-the-making, including Imara the baby giraffe, Mazy the tiger, Charlie the gorilla, and 16 adorable Vancouver Island marmot pups that were born just days ago.
You can book your trip on Parkbus' website, and if your plans change, you can cancel for a full refund up to 14 days before departure.
