pick your own flowers ontario

You can see over 3 million tulips at this picturesque Ontario farm

If you love picking flowers — tulips, specifically — now might be the perfect time to plan a road trip to the Ontario city of Niagara-on-the-Lake and visit the TASC Tulip Farm, the largest of its kind in the province.

The farm just revealed the tentative dates for its popular flower festival, an annual celebration that happens during a small window when over three million tulips burst with colour across 55 acres of farmland. Doesn't that sound like a dreamy sight? Cue the flowy summer dresses, bows in the hair, and picture-perfect memories.

Aside from a dose of postcard-worthy views, thousands of visitors flock to the farm to also savour local food from on-site vendors serving treats throughout the festival.

And while you're there, you can join a yoga class in a serene natural setting, catch local folk band Postmen Band serenading the crowd, or even reserve a picnic spot in the fields for the ultimate spring day out.

There's lots to do once you arrive, but let's be honest, the real highlight is the pick-your-own tulips experience.

Each festival ticket comes with 10 tulips, letting you create your own handpicked bouquet right from the fields. Staff is on hand to help make sure you pull them properly, bulbs and all. If 10 doesn't feel like enough, you can always purchase more on-site.

Experienced tulip pickers know there's only a brief window to see the flowers in bloom. That's why the festival is tentatively scheduled to run from April 24 to May 10, though dates may change depending on weather and soil conditions.

Tickets are now on sale, ranging from $23.79 to $88.94 (plus fees and taxes), depending on the day and experience you select, and can be easily booked directly on the farm's website. Just a reminder: extras like yoga sessions and picnics are add-ons and incur an additional cost.

The TASC Tulip Farm is located at 1173 Line 3 Rd. in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
