The Butterfly Conservatory, a popular Ontario attraction in Niagara Falls, is set to reopen this week after a six-week-long shutdown.
Open year-round and home to more than 2,000 butterflies, the conservatory was closed for scheduled maintenance, a mandatory requirement every seven to eight years.
The attraction shut down on Jan. 5 in order to replace the screen netting enclosure, which ensures the butterflies' safety when flying freely throughout the 11,000-square-foot conservation area.
One of the largest glass-enclosed butterfly conservatories in North America, it features a 180-metre-long pathway guests can wander through and interact with thousands of butterflies. The conservatory also includes a theatre, a teaching space, and immersive displays designed to enhance the visitor experience.
The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory will officially reopen on Feb. 13, with tickets now available for purchase through the Niagara Parks' official website. Admission is $25 per person, plus applicable taxes.
The conservatory is located at 2565 Niagara Pkwy. in Niagara Falls, Ont.
