Toronto is getting new ultra-low-cost flights to Jamaica

With September now in full swing and most (if not all) of Toronto's hotter days behind us, you might be eager to lock down your winter escape plans before the snow and subzero temperatures inevitably descend upon us.

And if you're hoping to travel to the Caribbean, the good news is that there's a new nonstop flight option out of Toronto, and it won't put a serious dent in your wallet.

Just ahead of the Labour Day long weekend, ultra-low-cost carrier Flair Airlines announced its new non-stop flight service between Toronto Pearson Airport and Montego Bay, Jamaica, with service starting this December.

This represents the airline's second flight service to Jamaica, coming after Kingston, which officially launched in December 2023.

"Montego Bay is a stunning beach destination, a second home for many in the GTA and a dream escape for many more," said Maciej Wilk, Flair's CEO.

"We're thrilled to announce another brand-new international route for Flair, punching above our weight to connect friends, families, and curious travellers alike with this pristine Caribbean city. This expansion reflects our continued focus on serving communities that have long been underserved by affordable air travel."

Montego Bay, which is the capital of Saint James Parish, is well-known for its luxurious beach resorts, golf courses, and numerous excursions, including snorkelling, diving, rafting, and horseback riding.

The new service officially kicks off on Dec. 14, with up to daily service during the peak holiday period. One-way fares to Montego Bay start at $189, while return tickets start at $199.

Tickets are available for booking online now.
