If you've already started to map out your summer vacation for 2026, you'll thankfully have two new routes out of Toronto to Europe and Asia to choose from.
On Wednesday, Air Canada announced its international network for summer 2026, including the reestablishment of non-stop flights from Toronto to Budapest and Shanghai.

Known as the most populous city in Hungary, Budapest's historic centre is classified as a World Heritage Site and contains multiple monuments of classical architecture, including the Matthias Church, Hungarian Parliament, State Opera House, and St. Stephen's Basilica.
Also returning to Pearson Airport next summer is the airline's non-stop flight service to Shanghai, with flights departing Toronto at 12:45 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays starting June 3, 2026.
Returning flights depart Shanghai at 6 p.m. local time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and arrive at Pearson Airport at 7:55 p.m.
Shanghai is known as a world financial and cultural centre, with major hubs in businesses, economics, manufacturing, as well as transportation, and is also home to the world's busiest container port.
Along with this expansion, Air Canada is also adding one additional flight to its Toronto to Prague route, for a total of four weekly flights during summer 2026.
"From Toronto, we are further cementing our global hub with the launch of two celebrated, international routes linking Canada's largest metropolitan area directly to Shanghai and Budapest, and adding capacity to Prague," said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President, Cargo at Air Canada.
"In all, these strategic additions reinforce Air Canada's global network as one of the most wide-reaching from North America, connecting our customers to all six inhabited continents."
All flights are now available for booking through Air Canada.
