Did you know that Canada's largest corn maze is located right here in Ontario, in the historic little town of Dundas? If you're looking for a fall adventure that gives you a bit of a challenge, Hanes Farm and Corn Maze offers the chance to get lost in almost 20 acres of vast land, as you zigzag through this impressive labyrinth of fun.
This maze sets itself apart from others through its sheer scale — it will take you anywhere from one to two hours to complete, but you'll be fully equipped with everything you need to get out on the other side.
Guests are given a map, pen, and clipboard before heading to the start line, and although it may sound like a walk in the park (or should I say, a stroll in the stalks?), it's not an easy feat: there are winding trails and massive corn walls to throw you off. The maze is also designed to test your sense of direction.
And for anyone who has visited in the past, note that each year, something new is added to keep things fresh!
Your ticket to the maze includes entry into Hanes Farm, which also features three other mini mazes, a petting zoo to get up close and personal with the cutest farm animals, and feed them their favourite foods, and a fun zone for everyone to take advantage of.
Their Sunflower Maze is also open for a limited time, with more information on how to visit available on their website.
You'll also want to stop by the locally-popular Tiny Shop Bakery, located right on the property, for your dose of sweet treats.
The maze launched for the season over the Labour Day weekend and is open daily in September from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule changes up a bit in October, when hours vary based on the day of the week: Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sundays, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
General admission for adults (13+) is $19.99, and for those who simply want to visit the property for the farm, farmland-only passes are also available. You can purchase your tickets here.
First things first, it's essential to dress for the conditions. Because this is an outdoor activity, expect mud, dust, and chilly fall conditions. Next, make sure you have time to spare. Carve out 1–2 hours for just the maze; it is Canada's largest corn maze after all. And lastly, a fully charged phone and flashlight are highly recommended for anyone who is venturing out after sunset.
So, if you're looking for something fun to kick off your fall adventures, a visit to Canada's largest corn maze is not a bad way to get into the seasonal spirit.
The Hanes Farm and Corn Maze is located at 1001 Highway #5 West in Dundas, Ontario.
