niagara falls flying ride

Highly anticipated Niagara Falls flying ride finally opens this month

Niagara Falls is ready for some more buzz as the much-awaited Niagara Takes Flight — an immersive, "flying theatre" experience which takes riders through the Niagara River corridor — will finally open to the public on August 29.

Imagine being in a vast, dark room, buckled into motion-based seating, and soaring through the surreal views of Niagara Falls, all showcased on a massive domed screen measuring 17 metres wide.

But before ride-goers embark on this high-octane adventure, they'll tour four storytelling rooms — including the Transporter Room and the Ancestors Room — that will each give them crash courses on the important moments in Canadian history.

The Transporter Room is one of the four fully immersive rooms that take guests through a series of history lessons, setting up the "flight" experience of the ride.

This new attraction is definitely getting a lot of people excited, proving to be one of the most hyped-up additions to the tourist hotspot in recent memory, as anticipation builds ahead of its opening later this month.

Everyone around the country is flocking to the ride's social media posts and leaving comments like, "This will be so much fun!!" And, "Every time you post about it, I get more and more excited! It looks so awesome!"

Others are making direct comparisons between Niagara Takes Flight and Disney's similar flying ride Soarin': "Excited to try this — love Soarin' at Disney."

And some are amped up about the fully immersive experience that the ride will be: "Wind and mist and scents included? OMG sounds fantastic!"

Niagara Takes Flight promises a thrilling encounter, complete with dangling feet, wind in your hair, breathtaking inclines, and daring dips — all paired with history lessons throughout the ride that take guests back to battles that shaped the nation's past.

It's a new way for tourists to connect with one of the most popular attractions in Canada — and you can purchase your tickets today.
