Over 50 of the continent's 500 fastest-growing tech companies are from Ontario

Ontario is fast becoming a world-leading region for tech development, and the industry's rapid growth is apparent in the latest Deloitte Technology Fast 500 ranking.

The annual ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecom, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech companies in North America — now in its 31st year — ranks companies based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2021 to 2024.

Of the 500 companies featured in this year's ranking, over 50 were based in Ontario, including the fourth-overall fastest-growing tech company on the continent.

Etobicoke-based life sciences company, Red Rock Regeneration, registered 12,166 per cent growth during this period, with the company headed by CEO Cameron Clokie ranking fourth in North America.

Of the 54 companies based in Ontario featured in this year's ranking, 37 are headquartered in Toronto — further cementing the city's position as the epicentre of Canada's tech industry.
