Rogers is hiking up the price of Sportsnet+ once again

It's a rough day to be a sports fan—Rogers is raising the prices of its Sportsnet+ plans. Again.

First spotted on several subreddits (r/torontoraptors, r/Rogers, to name a few), Rogers-owned Sportsnet sent an email to subscribers outlining the details of the price increase.

The email states, "We are committed to bringing you the best live sports streaming experience with the most premium content. To support these continued investments, the Premium annual plan fee for Sportsnet+ will be adjusted to $344.99 plus applicable taxes, starting with your first bill on or after September 22, 2026."

Looking at Sportsnet's webpage for Sportsnet+, all available plans are affected by the change, which comes into effect on September 22. The Standard plan will increase from $29.99/mo to $34.99/mo, with the Annual plan going from $249.99/year to $269.99/year. The Premium plan was also affected, going from $42.99/mo to $44.99/mo, and from $324.99/year to $344.99/year.

If you are subscribed to the Sportsnet+ Standard and CityTV+ bundle, you will also be affected by the price increase, as it is going up from $31.99/mo to $36.99/mo.

These price increases should not come as a surprise — Rogers recently signed a $4.35 billion deal to acquire the rest of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), which would give it ownership of several major sports teams including the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the AHL's Toronto Marlies, the NBA's Toronto Raptors, MLS' Toronto FC, and the CFL's Toronto Argonauts. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.

Moreover, Rogers recently shuttered several radio stations alongside gutting its customer service agents.
