Top women's tennis player in the world goes on luxury Toronto shopping spree
If you were strolling through Yorkville over the weekend, you may have crossed paths with the world's top-ranked women's tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka.
The 28-year-old Belarusian was spotted shopping in Yorkville on Sunday, the day after her run at the National Bank Open came to an end with a Round of 16 loss to Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Sabalenka shared several photos from around Toronto on Instagram, including one outside the Gucci storefront at 130 Bloor St. W., posing with a roughly $2,100 Jackie small shoulder bag.
She also posed outside award-winning Toronto jeweller Louro and Sons at 104 Avenue Rd., showing off her custom 12-carat diamond ring (disclaimer: the ring was not bought at the store).

The tennis star's post was captioned, "Catch you later Toronto," and included several photos from her time here. Her dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ash, also made an appearance.
Sabalenka is currently the top-ranked women's tennis player in the world and recently became only the 10th woman to spend more than 100 weeks at No. 1 in the WTA rankings. She will soon head to New York City to shoot for her third consecutive US Open title.
Sabalenka wasn't the only big tennis star to take in what the Toronto area had to offer during the National Bank Open.
Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk made the trip to Niagara Falls following her Round of 16 loss, while Poland's Iga Świątek spent some time exploring the Royal Ontario Museum on her day off.
Świątek is also one of two players who have already punched their ticket to the National Bank Open semifinals, where she'll face Ukraine's Elina Svitolina on Wednesday night.
