Toronto Raptors' Scottie Barnes hilariously crashes live TV segment

CTV News reporter Sean Leathong was outside the Toronto Raptors practice facility on Thursday reporting on Kawhi Leonard's new contract extension when an unexpected guest joined him on camera.

Raptors star Scottie Barnes was outside catching some fresh air, and what appeared to be some post-practice lunch outside the OVO Athletic Centre, when he decided to come into the camera frame and react to the news Leathong was reporting on.

Leathong thought Barnes was off minding his own business, and didn't appear to acknowledge that the 6-foot-8 forward was right behind him reacting in real time.

The two-time All-Star gave several facial expressions throughout the segment, nodding his head when Leathong said that Leonard's extension was official, then mouthing "Wow" and grabbing his heart when Barnes heard the reporter say the two-year, $115 million amount.

Leathong shouted out Barnes later in the clip, saying that the combination of him and Leonard gives this Raptors team a new trajectory.

The Raptors star looked at the camera and nodded, then later shared the clip to his personal social media page.

Tons of reporters were on hand at the Raptors facility on Thursday morning, as general manager Bobby Webster addressed the Leonard trade and extension for the first time.

During Webster's media availability, reporters could hear sounds of dribbles and whistles in the gym across the hall, as several players are already in town working out ahead of training camp next week.

Toronto will play its first preseason game in Quebec City on Oct. 3 before travelling to Vancouver to play Leonard's former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Oct. 10.

The Raptors will open their season at Scotiabank Arena against the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 21.
