The FIFA World Cup may be nearing its climactic peak, but the localized festivities are drawing to a close following the dramatic final match at Toronto Stadium on July 2 between Portugal and Croatia.

The World Cup gave Toronto many memorable moments, and now that the whirlwind has slowed to a gentle breeze, we are in a better position to reflect on the city's co-starring role in the world's most-watched sports tournament.

Those crazy weeks in June and July dealt us some iconic moments in sports history, and, though the noise has settled, the visual memories of the tournament will live on.
