Croatian FIFA World Cup visitors say Toronto is actually cheaper than back home

Toronto has a bit of a reputation for being a very expensive place to live or even visit. But, according to some Croatian soccer fans visiting for the FIFA World Cup, we actually have it better here than we realize.

blogTO caught up with Croatian supporters ahead of their team's June 23 match versus Panama with one question in mind: How affordable is Croatia compared to Toronto?

While some visitors agreed that Toronto was a more expensive city for certain things like alcohol, local food, and gas, local housing prices seemed cheap to visiting Croatians.

But the real surprise was the one Croatian fan who noted that Toronto is actually a more affordable host city to visit than some of the American host cities.
