Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk has always brought the party wherever he goes, and his latest partnership with a Toronto-based beer brand seems to be a natural fit.
If you've been inside a Longo's or LCBO over the past few weeks, you may have noticed a large picture of the Blue Jays fan favourite on one of the Banditos Mexican Lager in-store displays.
Well, Kirk just happens to be a brand ambassador and shareholder of the Canadian-brewed, yet Mexican-inspired beer that launched in 2024.
Despite the Spanish-sounding name, Banditos was founded right here in Toronto by entrepreneur Anthony CK Thomas, who wanted to shake things up when it came to Mexican-style cervezas in Canada.

Most of the popular Mexican lagers sold in Canada are imported, so Thomas produced Banditos as a way to offer the crisp, easy-drinking taste of a Mexican-style cerveza while still brewing it right here in Ontario.
Thomas knew Kirk was the perfect person to help bring the brand to Blue Jays fans across the province.
With his roots in Tijuana, Mexico, his career in Toronto, and popularity across Canada, Thomas knew he had to try to get the 27-year-old two-time MLB All-Star on board.
"This partnership felt natural to me right away," Kirk said in a press release. "Being from Mexico and now playing baseball in Canada, it is exciting to be part of a brand that brings those two worlds together."
The Kirk-fueled brew hasn't hit the Rogers Centre taps just yet, but fans can find a Banditos tall can at select Longo's locations and LCBOs across Ontario.
