Three FIFA World Cup teams have landed in Toronto

Three of the 48 teams competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup have arrived in Canada.

One of those three teams includes the Canadian men's national team, who will play their first game at Toronto Stadium this Friday. Their opponent, Bosnia and Herzegovina, has also arrived in preparation for the match.

Interestingly enough, just two of the 48 teams will call Canada home for the duration of the event: Canada, of course, and Panama. The latter have also arrived at their base camp, which is set up in New Tecumseth, Ont. Canada's base camp, meanwhile, is at the Westin Bayshore in downtown Vancouver.

Panama's first two matches of the World Cup will take place at Toronto Stadium. Their third and final outing of the group stage will be played at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, June 27. Canada will play all three games on Canadian soil; one in Toronto, and the other two in Vancouver at BC Place.

Canada has been placed in Group B, along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland. Their second match will be played on Thursday, June 18, against Qatar, while their final match of the group stage will be on Wednesday, June 24, against Switzerland.
