TD Insurance is helping Toronto soccer fans keep their victory honks alive

As the global stage for soccer heats up, Toronto fans are getting ready for the rituals that come with a big win: flags out the window, streets full of energy, and celebrations that spill beyond the final whistle.

Post-match celebrations are part of the city's summer soundtrack – filled with cheers, applause and the occasional singalong. In those moments of pure fan joy, the city comes alive with an orchestra of many sounds.

But there's only one sound so uniquely recognizable that you know a team has won the moment you hear it. That's the car horn.

Beyond Toronto, across all sports culture, this sound carries and transcends into a feeling. A Portugal win might send bright bursts of celebration along Dundas West. A Colombian victory might ripple through St. Clair in flashes of yellow, cheers and passing beeps.

One honk can say what everyone on the block already understands: the match is over, the team won, and the celebration has moved beyond the screen.

The car horn has an unlikely charm during soccer season. For a few seconds, it becomes something bigger than a car's accessory. It becomes a victory cheer on wheels, a neighbourhood news alert, and a tiny tradition all at once.

This beloved soccer celebration tradition is at the centre of the new TD Insurance Horn Repair Goodwill Reimbursement campaign. It offers eligible TD Insurance customers reimbursements for car horn repairs if the car horn has worn out from goal celebrations, from June 12, 2026, to July 19, 2026, for repairs of $150 or less.

Reimbursement requests can be sent to request@tdinsurance.com no later than the submission deadline and should include a paid receipt or invoice from a Canadian automotive repair facility authorized to perform vehicle repairs.*

Want to make sure your car horns are ready for soccer celebrations? On June 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., head to the TD Insurance Auto Centre in Richmond Hill — which has been renamed the TD Insurance Horn Check Centre for the day.

Fans are encouraged to stop by the centre and "test" their horn. Every car that "passes" the test will be rewarded with football swag to keep the celebrations going, while supplies last.

Because when soccer takes over Toronto, every neighbourhood has its own way of making noise. And sometimes, the horn does a little overtime!
