World-famous streamer IShowSpeed is coming to Toronto

After years of saying he'd never visit Canada due to personal reasons, popular YouTuber IShowSpeed says he's finally making a trip north of the border.

During a June 28 livestream, the popular YouTuber said that he plans to attend Portugal's Round of 32 FIFA World Cup match in Toronto.

IShowSpeed said he wouldn't miss the game, considering it could be Cristiano Ronaldo's final FIFA World Cup match.

The 21-year-old's decision to come to Toronto is a surprise, considering the grudge he's held against the country up to this point.

During a livestream in May 2025, IShowSpeed claimed he would never go to Canada because his great-grandfather was allegedly killed by a Canadian during a war.

"I told myself I'd never go there unless somebody from Canada would apologize," he said at the time.

He doubled down on not visiting Canada before the FIFA World Cup kicked off, saying he will visit Canada and Mexico in the future rather than during the tournament.

But with Portugal's next match in Toronto, plus the possibility that it could be Ronaldo's final game, his plans have changed.

The American content creator, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is a Ronaldo super fan and has been livestreaming his reactions from each of Portugal's FIFA World Cup matches so far.

IShowSpeed has gained more than 50 million subscribers by streaming his reactions to everyday real-life experiences. He walks around places he's never been to, meets local celebrities and tries all the food, while interacting with fans in the chat.

Besides being a YouTube sensation, IShowSpeed just happens to be one of the biggest fan ambassadors during this 2026 tournament. He is even the face of FIFA's latest video game, FIFA Heroes.

The upcoming knockout stage game in Toronto between Portugal and Croatia is one of the most anticipated matchups in the Round of 32, and the ticket prices reflect that.

For those hoping to catch a glimpse of Ronaldo, or Speed, the get-in price for Thursday's match comes at a premium. According to TicketData.com, the lowest price is roughly $2,500 at the time of publication.
