Toronto Blue Jays fans went completely wild for first $1 hot dog night of the season

Toronto Blue Jays fans' spirits are at an all-time high to kick off the team's 2026 season, and it's evident the packed crowd at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday brought appetites to match the vibes for the team's first $1 hot dog promotion of the year.

The beloved Loonie Dogs Night promotion returned to Rogers Centre on Tuesday for the first time this season, and it was a certified gala of glizzy gluttony as fans scarfed down 90,708 hot dogs.

Yes, you read that right. Over ninety thousand and seven hundred hot dogs.

With their appetites in tow, a crowd of 38,871 ate a ratio of 2.333 hot dogs per person during a 5-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on March 31.

At an average length of 15 centimetres, the thousands of Schneiders loonie dogs consumed would stretch into an unbroken 13.6-kilometre tube of processed meat, covering about the distance from Toronto's Union Station to the Scarborough Bluffs.

While impressive, the number wasn't quite enough to strip away the single-game record of 96,633 set last season.

Loonie Dogs Night returns to the Rogers Centre for every Tuesday home game of the 2026 season.

The promotion has been a smash hit with fans, who tallied up a whopping 826,308 hot dogs consumed during Loonie Dogs promotions in 2025, eclipsing the 727,819 sold during the 2024 season.
