Toronto Blue Jays get sassy with opposing fans and even MLB

The Toronto Blue Jays' social media team has been having some fun early on in this 2026 MLB season.

It all started less than two weeks ago, when the social team savagely roasted a New York Yankees fan who had dubbed George Springer as a cheater.

It isn't just fans who are at risk of being called out by the Jays' social media team, either. As it turns out, even going after the official MLB account isn't off limits.

On Sunday night, the MLB uploaded a video on X captioned, "Lots of first home runs with new teams today." The clip featured a montage of several home runs from opening weekend, including recent Blue Jays acquisition Jesus Sanchez. What confused many, however, was that a home run from Springer led off the montage.

Springer is in his sixth season with the Blue Jays, and hit 32 home runs in the 2025 campaign alone.

"This is George Springer's 6th season in Toronto," the Blue Jays playfully replied.

Of course, the Blue Jays' social media team were far from the only ones to point out the mistake.

After three straight wins to start the season, the Blue Jays suffered their first loss on Monday. As for the Jays' social media team? They remain undefeated.
