Ticket prices are sky-high for Toronto Blue Jays' first game

The Toronto Blue Jays begin the 2026 season on Friday and excitement surrounding this team is at an incredible high.

Fans are feeling more confident in the team than they have in at least a decade, and ticket prices are reflecting it.

After struggling to sell seats for their opening weekend in 2025, tickets to Blue Jays games are now in high demand. In fact, those hoping to get into the Rogers Centre on Friday night to watch the AL pennant banner raised to the rafters will have to pay a pretty penny to do so.

The cheapest resale price we spotted on Ticketmaster for Friday's game was $131.61, and that's in the 500 level.

If you're okay with missing the banner raising on Friday night, waiting for Saturday or Sunday's game — all of which are against the Athletics — may be the better choice. There are tickets in the 500 level available for just $47.19 on Saturday, while prices drop even further to just $35.70 on Sunday.

The Blue Jays ranked ninth in attendance among all 30 MLB teams in 2025 with an average of 35,184. That was a slight increase from 2024, where they averaged 33,101.

Don't be surprised to see that number rise once again this season — perhaps in more dramatic fashion.

This isn't just solely excitement based on last year's run, either. The Blue Jays made a number of key additions this offseason. They signed two starting pitchers in Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce, while also adding relief pitcher Tyler Rogers, who boasts a 2.76 ERA over his seven-year MLB career.

On the offensive side of things, the Blue Jays signed Japanese free agent Kazuma Okamoto, a six-time NPB All Star. These additions have the Jays being viewed as serious threats once again, which should ensure plenty of butts in seats assuming they live up to expectations.
