You would think Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jeff Hoffman would be a bit more selective with his outfit choices.
Players have slowly begun arriving at the Blue Jays' training facility following the offseason. One of those players included Jeff Hoffman, who allowed the game-tying home run to Miguel Rojas of the LA Dodgers in the ninth inning of Game 7 in the World Series.
Though Hoffman certainly isn't to blame for what ended up being a heartbreaking loss, there were plenty of fans criticizing him for giving up a home run at such an inopportune time to the Dodgers' number-nine hitter. As such, you would think the 33-year-old closer - who had an up-and-down 2025 season - would be doing everything he could to get back in the good graces of Blue Jays fans.
Instead, Hoffman did the polar opposite.
While walking into the Blue Jays' facility on Tuesday, Hoffman was spotted wearing a Los Angeles hoodie.
Though it had nothing to do with the Dodgers itself, many were surprised he would choose to rock such a sweater given the Jays' recent heartbreak.
"Imagine single handedly blowing the world series and showing up to spring training like this," one fan on Instagram wrote.
That individual was far from the only Blue Jays fan upset with Hoffman's attire, either.
Others, however, believe this could have simply been the result of a fun bet lost with his Blue Jays teammates.
Regardless of one's opinion on the matter, everyone, including Hoffman himself, knows he has to be better this coming season. Signed to a three-year, $33 million deal ahead of 2025, the hard-throwing right-hander had a disappointing 4.37 ERA through 68 innings in his first year with the Jays.
