Toronto Blue Jays still pushing to re-sign Bo Bichette but clock is ticking

Don't rule out the Toronto Blue Jays re-signing Bo Bichette just yet.

The Blue Jays front office has been a busy bunch this offseason, landing several free agents, including Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce, and Tyler Rogers. They continued on that front on Sunday, signing third baseman Kazuma Okamoto to a four-year, $60 million deal.

Adding another infielder suggested to many that the Blue Jays were officially out on Bichette, who is also receiving interest from the likes of the LA Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and several other clubs. Based on a new report, however, the Jays are still looking to add at least one more big bat to their lineup.

"The Blue Jays remain fully engaged in talks with infielders Bo Bichette and Alex Bregman, with outfielder Kyle Tucker also remaining a possibility," Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote in a recent column.

Bichette, 27, has spent his entire seven-year career with the Blue Jays. The 2025 season saw him hit a robust .311 with 18 home runs and 94 RBI in just 139 games.

While it remains to be seen where Bichette chooses to call home moving forward, Blue Jays fans can remain optimistic that a return to Toronto doesn't appear to be out of question despite the signing of Okamoto.
