Toronto Tempo unveil WNBA team's first-ever jerseys

The Toronto Tempo will be arriving in style when they make their WNBA debut next season.

Canada's first-ever WNBA franchise celebrated another milestone on Tuesday morning, ahead of its inaugural season. With the team set to begin play in 2026, the Tempo unveiled its home and away uniforms.

Both jerseys will feature Toronto's colour scheme of maroon, blue, and white. The uniforms will also feature six 'Tempo lines" down the side, a nod to the city's boroughs.

The team has dubbed the maroon colour as "Tempo Bordeaux" and the blue as "Borealis Blue."

"Today marks another meaningful milestone on our journey to bringing Canada’s first WNBA team to life,” said Toronto Tempo Chief Marketing Officer, Whitney Bell.

"Every detail of these uniforms is intentional. From the colour story to the speed lines, we’ve created a design that brings our brand to life and represents our city, our fans, and our team. We cannot wait for our players, and our fans, to wear them with pride."

Following WNBA standards, the Tempo will wear the white "Heroine" edition uniforms during home games, while the "Explorer" edition maroon uniform will be reserved for the road.

The Tempo will be the first WNBA team to play with this unique colour scheme. In addition to these distinctive elements, Toronto's uniforms will also feature two sponsorship patches from cosmetics retailer Sephora and Canadian bank CIBC.

Fans wanting to buy a jersey will not have to wait long. The team will make the team's maroon away jerseys available in January. There has been no word on when the Tempo's white home jersey will be available for purchase.

Toronto was awarded a WNBA expansion team in 2024 after owner Larry Tanenbaum paid an expansion fee of $50 million USD. The team will play out of Coca-Cola Coliseum, with regular-season games also planned to be played in Montreal and Vancouver.
