Toronto Blue Jays players trying to recruit Kyle Tucker in Instagram comments

The Toronto Blue Jays players are not letting up in their recruitment of top free-agent Kyle Tucker.

With the star right-fielder still unsigned as the holidays approach, the Blue Jays remain one of the favourites to land Tucker in a big free agency splash for the team.

And players are getting in on the recruitment drive.

Former teammate Myles Straw kicked off the recruiting in November, saying that the star should sign in Toronto so that Straw could babysit Tucker's newborn baby.  Vladimir Guerrero Jr. then slid into the comment section of one of Tucker's Instagram posts earlier this month.

The recruitment process remains in full swing, with Blue Jays backup catcher Tyler Heineman being the latest to get in on the action.

Tucker posted a photo on Sunday of himself golfing, captioned "Anyone up for a round," to which Heineman suggested a Toronto-area course for the four-time All-Star to try.

"Yea. TPC Toronto. See you there," Heineman commented.

The official TPC Toronto account seemed to like the suggestion, leaving a comment of their own on the post, urging Tucker to come try out the course. "See you on the first tee," TPC Toronto wrote under the post.

Straw also got into the comment section again on the post, with a simple "Let's go"
message for his former teammate. It feels like the Toronto utility man is leading the charge for a reunion with his former Houston Astros teammate.

Rumours have been swirling around Tucker and the Blue Jays since free agency opened last month. Toronto appeared to be the early favourites to land Tucker, but they've since been connected to Boston Red Sox slugger Alex Bregman.

The Blue Jays are also in the midst of seeing if they can get Bo Bichette to return on an extension as well. It feels unlikely that Toronto would be able to snag two of those three players. With Tucker being the biggest free agent out there, he might be the domino that many teams around the league are waiting to fall.

Tucker spent last season with the Chicago Cubs, where he smashed 22 home runs and drove in 73 RBIs. He would add some formidable pop to the Blue Jays' lineup and give them one of the most dangerous batting orders in all of baseball.

We will have to wait and see if all this recruiting from Blue Jays players pays off with another big signing in Toronto.
